Josh has taught my children for the last few years and would highly recommend him to others. Josh is himself an outstanding skateboarder, unlike other teachers I have seen or used, which allows him to show techniques in ways that the children can see what he is doing as he is able to slow down or overemphasize a particular point while still completing the move.

Josh is patient and works to give the child confidence, for my daughter (10) Josh has taken the time to make sure that she moves ahead, encouraging her without pushing, as she lacks the daredevil nature of others. However this has worked as she can now drop-in from the tallest parts of the Menlo Park skate park.  For my son who is younger (6) Josh works to make the lessons fun and varied as at this age it is easy for a child to become distracted, but he too can drop-in and is starting to make kick turns.

For parents wanting their children to learn skateboarding in a safe, relaxed and professional way Josh is without doubt an excellent choice, for children who either are starting to learn or wanting to get into competitions Josh will improve their confidence and skills in a fun and challenging way.

I cannot say enough good things about Josh’s teaching style and his ability to work so well with the kids.  My son was lucky enough to go to Woodward although it was a great experience he did not learn anything compared to the skate camp Josh teaches.  Josh knows when to push the kids and he takes the time to encourage and show them how to become a better skater in a positive manor.  I am very happy to recommend Josh to anyone wanting to improve their skating.  My son has worked with Josh for about 3 years now.
